For the Love of Sheets!

I have developed a major love of luxury bedding after working at Bella Casa for quite some time. Having my degree in textiles, I love any and every type of textile that has to do with the home. Of course drapery, upholstery, and table linens are lovely, but their function is simply to look good. bedding on the other hand needs to both look good, and feel amazing!

Sheeting to a bed is like the espresso to a latte. you need a good quality espresso in order to love the overall taste of the drink.

There are so many types of sheets out there that it is easy to feel overwhelmed when shopping for your perfect match. I have been on a mission for a while to try as many types of sheeting that I possibly can.

I started off with the Revelle Soft Touch sheets. I will admit that I purchased these mainly based on the colour of the sheets. This category of sheets has an amazing colour selection.. if you are looking for a bright and fun colour to add a punch to your bedroom, these sheets are the way to go. They are a 200 thread count percale and are 100% Egyptian cotton. I find these to be a nice light sheet that have a beautiful soft finish. Very economically priced as well, running at $332.50 for a queen set.

The next set that I invested in were the Quillian from St. Geneve. Oh-my-goodness! These sheets are the softest sheets I have ever rested my head on. They are the closest thing to butter that I have ever felt in a textile. This collection is made of a micro modal fabric (a fabric made from beechwood cellulose), giving it an airy and soft feel. These sheets however only come in one colour.. white. I personally think white is a great colour for sheets because it is guaranteed to match with anything and everything you put with it. One slight downfall to these sheets is that they wrinkle easier than a regular cotton sheet would, so if you are one who always wants your bed to look perfectly made, these might not be the sheets for you. The Quillian sheets will run you $764.00 for a queen set, they are on the upper end of price point, but in my opinion are worth every penny.

After immediately loving the Quillian sheets I was skeptical that I was going to like any other sheet after that. My next sheet set came highly recommended from a co-worker, Marcy. The way she raved about these sheets made me feel the need to try a set ASAP. So I welcomed the Cuddle Down Percale Deluxe to my growing sheet collection. These sheets are extremely well priced at $205.00 for a Queen set and have a great colour selection. They are a 220 thread count percale 100% cotton fabric. At first, I must admit, I was a little disappointed but I wasn't going to give up on these
sheets. After several washings I began to feel the qualities that Marcy spoke of so highly. The more you wash these sheets the softer they become; feeling like suede after a while. I am now a believer.. these sheets are a great bang for your buck! If you have the patience and are looking for an incredibly smooth and soft sheet, these are the sheets for you!

Next up on my list are a sheet from the Revelle Estate Sateen collection. These sheets are made of 100% Egyptian cotton and are a 300 thread count sateen. Because of the weave, these sheets feel almost like satin. You will
slide right into your bed with these sheets on. They are exceptionally silky and feel just as incredible on day 500 as they did on day 1. These are a quality sheet that will last you a very long time. Priced at $439.50 for the set.

The Cuddle Down Impressions sheeting was up next on my list. This is a regular stocked sheet at Bella Casa so I thought it would be a good idea to try these out so when customers ask I can give them my own personal opinion.
These sheets are made from a 500 thread count 100% cotton sateen fabric. Again, the more you wash these sheets, the softer they get.. almost getting a velvety feel over time. A set of Impressions sheets will run you $340.00 for a queen set.

My most recent purchase has been the Revelle Savoy Linen sheets, a queen set of these sheets are $598.50. I have only had these sheets for 2 months so I am not going to give my review on these yet. Everyone I talk to who has ever slept on linen sheets absolutely loves them so I am looking forward to giving these a fair shot. Stay tuned to hear what I think about this next set of sheets!
